How does the relay work?
Relay partner #1: head to the starting line.
Relay partner #2:
Meet at Melbourne City Hall by 6am. Bus to arrive at 5:45 a.m.
Or go straight to the relay hand off location – on the east side of the Eau Gallie
Causeway, at the boat launch lot.
There will be a bus to take 2nd stage runners (likely need three return trips) from City Hall
to the 2nd stage area from 6 a.m. to 6:45 a.m.
Relay runners will have timing chips attached to their bibs and runners can decide their running order.
Bib numbers will be available at packet Pick-up(Alphabetical by last name). You will ONLY need your
ID for pickup (cell phone image is acceptable if picking up for a team member)
All runners will have an IPICO chip that attaches to their bib.

Free parking is available on the side streets in Downtown Melbourne. NO PARKING AT
FRONT STREET PARK..

Meg O’Malley’s lot – Strawbridge and Waverly Ave.
Sunday race weather is expected to be cool and ranging from 60 degrees at 6 a.m. to 80
degrees at noon. WE will have ample water, gatorade and Clif shots stops on the course, but please stay
hydrated, wear sunscreen and pay attention to your body if you begin to feel uncomfortable.
All runners will receive a hat, medal, bib, and finisher’s medal. All shirts have unisex sizing.
Registration Changes/Walk Ups
Come to packet pick up to make any corrections to your information. Anyone you know that
would like to register can do so at Packet Pick-up or on race morning (shirts not guaranteed

Marathoners – the only difference between the first and second loop is in Ballard Park, where
you will go slightly further into the park on loop 2. Volunteers will point you there.
Ice and medical aid will be available just past mile 6.5 (the relay hand off), and east of the Eau
Gallie Causeway (the first bridge).
Medical Aid is available at start, finish and about mile 6.6.
If you have a course emergency, ask a volunteer at ANY water stop to help or call 911. Hospital and EMT
assistance are on standby.
Water stops are approximately every 1.5/2 miles. CLIF SHOTS CAN BE FOUND AT WATER STOP 3 (BALLARD PARK) & WATER STOP 8 (RIVERSIDE DR/RIVER OAKS ST). MEDICAL CAN BE FOUND ON EAU GALLIE CAUSEWAY BY THE RELAY EXCHANGE POINT (6.55 MILES) AND AT FRONT STREET PARK.
Bag Check (a.k.a. Locker)
Sunday only, 5:30am – 1pm
The gazebo in front of the Front Street Civic Center.
Items must be in a bag, with name, BIB number and phone number clearly labeled on it. Paper
bags will be available on a limited basis.) There will be a pull tab on your bib to check your back
and you will need your bib to claim your items after the race.
NO BACKPACKS WILL BE CHECKED (Drawstring bags are accepted)
Official results links will be posted on thefloridamarathon.com by early afternoon on Sunday.
Post Race Party in the Park
Bring a beach blanket or chair to stretch out and relax at Front Street Park. Post race athlete
food, awards and music will be at the park.

Lost & Found
At the gazebo at Front Street Park. Any clothing discarded on the course or elsewhere will be

Trash & Recycling Bins
On race days, look for recycling bins. PLEASE DO NOT THROW FOOD, PLATES OR
NAPKINS IN RECYCLING BINS. We will be trying to be as green as possible.

Race day will be cool at the start. All waterstops will be designated areas to toss clothing layers.
Discarded clothes will be given to local charities.
